Supporting Your Library

How to get involved!

Volunteering

The Cameron Public Library welcomes volunteers from the patrons and the members of Friends of the Library. There are a number of things that volunteers can do to help. Primarily we can use assistance in filing the books in their proper places, and it is not a difficult process to learn. Checking the books that are already filed to make sure they are in the proper place and the books are at the front of the shelves is also important. Volunteers can greet patrons and visitors when the librarians are busy. They can also help the patrons/visitors find the selections they are seeking.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library organization plays a very important role in the functioning of our library. They help with book sales, decorating for holidays, give financial support, help with the summer reading program, and special programs. Cost of membership per year is as follows: Student or retiree $10.00, Individual $15.00, Family $25.00, Patron $100.00, Sponsor $500.00, and Benefactor $1,000.00.
